Nurse Practitioners | Courtesy Applicants

Are you registered with another jurisdiction and require a short-term practice permit for Alberta? If you are, you may apply for a courtesy permit to practise as a nurse practitioner (NP) within Alberta with this application.

Applicants must remain registered in good standing in an equivalent jurisdiction as a condition of the courtesy permit. Permits are only issued for the duration of the specific reason you are temporarily practising in Alberta. Permits are issued for a maximum of three months and will not extend beyond any of your RN/NP registrations with other jurisdictions.

Temporary employment contracts, including agency or travel nurse assignments, are not considered appropriate for courtesy registration unless they are related to an emergency or disaster.
