How the CRNA Protects Your Information and Privacy

The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality and security of the personal information collected from or about any individual. 

The CRNA only collects information for the purposes of regulating registrants and employing individuals, and only discloses information as required by legislation for regulatory purposes.

The collection, use, disclosure and protection of personal information by the CRNA is guided by legislation including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the Health Professions Act (HPA) and other privacy-related statutes like Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). 

Protecting Applicant & Registrant Information

The CRNA will never ask for an individual’s password for any reason. Applicants and registrants should not share their College Connect log in details or application information with other individuals or third-party organizations. The CRNA is unable to speak to third parties about applicants’ and registrants’ information, including details about their applications. 

When required, documentation must be submitted to the CRNA via secure channels. Applicants and registrants are reminded that social media is not a secure platform for sharing personal information and the CRNA is unable to share application updates or personal information via social media platforms.
