Program Implementation Proposal

For New Registered Nurse Prescribing Programs

Introduction

The Program Implementation Proposal is Phase 1 of the approval process for new nursing education programs.

The proposal must be submitted no later than 12 months before program implementation. This information  provides the College with preliminary details  to support regulatory oversight and inform subsequent approval activities. Submission of a program implementation proposal does not constitute approval of the program.

If you have questions or require assistance completing the proposal, please contact programapproval@nurses.ab.ca.

The Program Implementation Proposal contains five sections. The proposal sets out the program's structure and curriculum, the consultations conducted to establish support for the program, the labour market and learner demand for the program, and the contacts responsible for the proposal. Within each section, a description of expected information is provided. Institutions are expected to provide complete and accurate information in each section to support the CRNA's review.
